Not had a Gas Gas trials but have had 2 EC enduros and really rate them. Reliable and good value for money. My mates lad is called Joe Hutchinson, Hutchy for short obs. He was The Gas Gas vans best customer. AMCA have a number of trials clubs all over the country. The company produce tiny numbers of these, but with a top rider i recon they would better the other companies sales.

Would love to ride a Jotagas but I don't have access to one and I hate to buy one since they are so new on the market unproven. I have spent some time on a Beta and I like it but The power delivery on the Beta is way different too.

Shercos are nice but it seems like there are some reliability ussues that I'm not sure I want to deal with and frankly the new yellow frame is butt ugly IMHO. We find the clutch on the Beta the best It sounds as if the bike you rode did not have good oil in the tranny! I just came off a beta onto a 12 raga. Other than that Beta was awesome except for the brittleness of the rear fender. You can post now and register later.
